Color Coding

Oftentimes it is of value to highlight recognized data ranges in a report.  This color coding is set by the report programmer when the report is defined.  Here are the several options available for the color coding criteria.

There are three color ranges available; Green, Yellow and Red.  They can be approached with either a “greater than” or a “less than” mentality.

  • data greater than the green-value are green, data between the yellow value and the green value are yellow, data between the yellow value and the red value are not colored, and data less than the red value are red. Or, conversely
  • data less than the green value are green, data between the yellow value and the green value are yellow, data between the yellow value and the red value are not colored, and data greater than the red value are red.

The Green/Yellow/Red values have quite a bit of flexibility.

  • ###.# = a positive or negative numeric threshold value
  • ###.# % = a positive percentage above, or negative percentage below, the column’s mean
  • ###.#STD = a positive or negative # of Std Deviations from the column’s mean
